George Vithoulkas is a Professor of Homeopathic Medicine and holder of the Right Livelihood Award and practices this particular therapeutic method since the late 1950s. He is one the method’s formers and is considered to be the person who reinvented it through the course of the 20th century while introducing its foundation on scientific basis.
G. Vithoulkas is the author of a large number of books, which have been translated into 33 languages. Some of his most important writings include:
International Academy of Classical Homeopathy (IACH)
The International Academy of Classical Homeopathy was founded in Alonnisos in 1995 by G. Vithoulkas, in which he is the Professor and Director of the Department of Education to date. The aim of the Academy is to train health professionals from all over the world in Classic Homeopathic Medicine in order for them to be more effective in exercising it.
The IACH training program has been adopted by many universities around the world. Some indicative mentions would be: Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali (Colombia), the University of the Aegean (Greece), Academia Medico Homeopatica de Barcelona (Spain), PHEE "Medical University of Kiev" (Ukraine) while the process of acquiring the accreditation by the ACHENA (Accreditation Commission for Homeopathic Education in North America) is in progress.
In June 2010, the Academy launched the full and pioneering e-learning program in Classical Homeopathy, which is used by thousands of physicians around the world.
During the summer months, seminars are being conducted in groups of physicians who arrive to Alonissos from all over the world (USA, Italy, Sweden, Norway, United Kingdom, Germany, India, Mexico, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Pakistan, etc.) in order to be trained in multilingual departments (English, Italian, German, Russian, Spanish, Romanian, Greek).
To this day, more than 15,000 doctors and other health professionals from 62 countries have been trained in the Academy.
